My second weekend of living in Corpus, my roommate and I made some new friends and went out to dance at a club called The Ranch but everyone calls it Ropers. This I the first I went to a club and especially with new friends. It was a lot of fun and I met a whole bunch of people.
What I learned from this experience was that it is okay to branch out and do things that you haven't done before because they can be really fun. I had a lot more fun that night then I thought I would and it really gave me the college experience I was looking for. The people were super nice and really helped me become comfortable in the new space. I realized that I really like to get pretty and go out.
I also learned that I need to be careful of my surrounding a lot more than I used to. Even though I was with people I trusted, I was still surrounded by some creepy men who liked to be touchy. I learned through out the night who to stay away from and who to stick by in case of an emergency. I definitely felt safer around my guy friends and felt I could ask them for help if I needed it.
